How to Choose a Digital Cricket Scoreboard for a Community Club

Choosing a digital cricket scoreboard isn't simply a matter of buying the biggest display available.
Community cricket clubs should consider viewing distance, portability, the information that needs to be displayed and how the scorer will operate the scoreboard.
What Information Do You Need?
At minimum, many clubs want Runs, Wickets and Overs.
Some clubs also want a separate Target display.
A four-display scoreboard can keep Runs, Wickets, Overs and Target visible simultaneously.
Alternatively, a rotating scoreboard can show several values sequentially while using less physical display area.
Consider the Viewing Distance
A 32 × 32 cm scoreboard can work well where portability is particularly important.
For larger grounds, 64 cm-wide models provide larger characters and a greater overall display area.
The right choice therefore depends partly on where the scoreboard will be positioned relative to players and spectators.
Consider Portability
A permanent scoreboard isn't necessary for every club.
Portable models in our range weigh from approximately 1 kg for the slim 64 × 16 cm scoreboard to around 5 kg for larger configurations.
A club moving between several grounds may place greater importance on weight than a club using the same venue every weekend.
Think About the Target
If displaying the chase target is important, choose a model containing a Target display.
If Runs, Wickets and Overs are sufficient, eliminating the Target panel can reduce the scoreboard's physical size.
How Will You Control It?
Our cricket scoreboards can be operated using a dedicated remote with an open-field range of up to approximately 500 metres and through a browser-based interface from a connected phone.
There is no single perfect cricket scoreboard for every club.
The best approach is to determine which information you need, how large it needs to appear and how portable the scoreboard needs to be before selecting a configuration.
