Description
The TSA8800B is a 2x100W + 200W, 2.1-channel Bluetooth DSP amplifier board featuring an AudioB I2S Bluetooth module with Apt-X support. It’s a highly versatile DSP/DAC/amplifier board with a high-efficiency Class-D architecture, powered by the TPA3221 chip. The board provides two 100W output channels and a 200W subwoofer channel, delivering continuous nominal power across all channels simultaneously. It supports DC power from 12V to 30V and can drive 4Ω or 8Ω passive speakers, with the subwoofer channel also capable of handling a 2Ω load.
This 2.1-channel amplifier board has a dedicated 200W mono output for the subwoofer, which can be reconfigured through DSP programming to function as a left, right, or mixed channel output. To use, simply power the board, then pair it with a mobile phone, computer, or other Bluetooth-enabled device. The amplifier will appear as "TSA8800B" in the Bluetooth search—no PIN is required. Pair, connect, and start streaming music.
The TSA8800B is equipped with an ADAU1701 DSP chip, allowing users to independently adjust audio tones for each channel. It supports both Apt-X and TWS, enabling audio streaming to two paired amplifier boards wirelessly for synchronized, high-quality audio output.
DSP I/O port:
The TSA8800B provides access to three I/O pins of the ADAU1701 DSP chip: MP6, MP7, and MP0. Users can customize DSP programming on these pins to meet specific needs. In the default DSP firmware, grounding these pins will cause the TSA8800B to output a 1kHz sine wave.
External Button Port:
The board includes three buttons for controlling audio volume, play/pause, and more. Additional external buttons can be connected using these ports.
Pin Definitions (refer to the silkscreen on the back of the board):
- P/P: Play/pause button
- VOL+: Volume increase and forward button
- VOL-: Volume decrease and rewind button
- 3.3V
Potentiometer Port:
External potentiometers (5K-20K) can be connected to adjust the main volume, treble, mid, and bass levels. To use this feature, you’ll need to update the DSP program to support external potentiometers. Here’s the potentiometer mapping:
- ADC0: Main volume
- ADC1: Bass volume
- ADC2: Mid volume
- ADC3: Treble volume
DSP Programming Port:
The TSA8800B DSP automatically detects both Bluetooth and RCA signals, with Bluetooth prioritized by default. When a Bluetooth signal is detected, it overrides the RCA input; otherwise, the RCA audio source is used. Users can create a custom DSP program to adjust these settings as desired, and load it onto the board using a USBi JTAG Sigma DSP programmer.
2 boards work in TWS mode. You can also build a wireless subwoofer system.
- S1 - Long press 3s into pairing mode. Long press 6s clear the pairing info.
- S1+S2 - Long press 1s into TWS slave mode.
- S1+S3 - Long press 1s into TWS master mode.
- S2+S3 - Long press 1s disconnect TWS connection.
